A Word About

Campaign-based Production

Campaign-based production is the system for operating a production facility in which a specific manufacturing area is dedicated to producing one product at a time, switching to a different product as needed. This change in product is called a "changeover" and focuses mostly on cleaning the process equipment to ensure that the existing product will not contaminate the new product. This is one variant of mult-product manufacturing, the other being to dedicate different areas to different products so that more than one product can be made in the same facility at the same time.
